Running for office is about trust, integrity, and good governance. That trust starts long before General Voting Day, it starts with how a campaign treats the personal information of its supporters.
Recently, there has been a trend of candidates publicly calling out and highlighting individuals who have signed nomination forms or made contributions to campaigns. While transparency in election financing is essential, premature public disclosure without consent is both unnecessary and disrespectful to voters’ privacy.
Under Elections BC rules, candidate nomination packages and financial disclosures become public record only through official reporting channels, after formal filing or post-election reporting. Until then, your political support and personal details belong to you.
Here is our campaign’s pledge to you:
- Strict Privacy Compliance: We respect the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). We will never publicly “out,” post, or showboat about your contribution or nomination on social media or in campaign media without your explicit permission.
- Lawful Transparency: We will disclose nominator and contributor information strictly as required by BC election laws and Elections BC reporting timelines, no sooner, no later.
- Governance Standard: Confidentiality matters. A candidate who fails to respect your privacy during a campaign cannot be trusted to handle sensitive, confidential information in council chambers.

Running for city council requires more than flashy social media stunts and broadcasting private support for clout. Voters deserve substance, a clearly defined platform, transparent viewpoints, and concrete ideas for our city’s future.
Without a substantive platform, public posturing is nothing more than noise. A serious campaign is built on policy, vision, and a genuine respect for the electorate. No website, no platform, no vision equals no substance to support.
