Fiscal Responsibility Starts on the Campaign Trail
When I ran for Prince George City Council in 2022, I made a commitment to respect taxpayer dollars—and that started with how I ran my own campaign. I refused to pass the hat or squeeze local residents during tough economic times.
Here are the official numbers filed with Elections BC from my 2022 campaign:
- Total Campaign Spending: $3,866.22
- Unsolicited Community Contributions: $790.00
- Out-of-Pocket Personal Investment: ~$3,076.00
- Votes Received: 3,440
- Cost Per Vote: ~$1.12
The Bottom Line:
While other campaigns raised and spent tens of thousands of dollars to get elected, I proved that you don’t need a massive chest of special-interest money to connect with over 3,440 Prince George voters. I ran lean, spent carefully, and reused assets wherever possible.
That’s the exact same practical, no-nonsense fiscal discipline I will bring to the City Council table in 2026.
